Katie and Sam – Final Album Design

Kaite and Sam – initial album design

An Australian Wedding and Relocation to Dorset!

Things have been a little quiet on the Lightmotif Films blog site recently – we are actually in the process of relocating from Scotland to the south of England, in Dorset. We have also been over to Australia to cover my cousin’s wedding, which was absolutely fabulous. The location at Hearn’s Beach House was just stunning, and Katie and Sam along with the whole family had put such a lot of care and attention into every detail of the day. We were a little concerned given the rainstorm the day before the wedding, but the weather on the day itself couldn’t have been better (especially given our British sensibilities!). Katie and Sam – you’re both awesome, and thank you so much for enabling us to get over to Australia to cover such a special occasion.

Lightmotif Wedding Video at the Scottish Borders Wedding Show

An image of a few albums at the Lightmotif studio

Lightmotif Photography and Films are really pleased to be exhibiting our photography and videography at the Scottish Borders wedding fair on 24th October 2010, at Springwood Hall, Kelso. We always love to cover local weddings; the Scottish Borders are home to so many stunning wedding venues, from Cringletie House to Wedderburn Castle. Combined with some top quality local vendors, you really can arrange a beautiful, local wedding.

I will be showing some of our recent wedding films, and Adrian will be bringing along some of his gorgeous new Queensberry sample albums. Please do pop by and have a chat with us about your wedding videography or photography. We’d love to be part of your local Scottish Borders wedding!

Be sure to book your tickets, and pencil this event in your diary. We look forward to seeing you there.

Cringletie House Wedding Video – Victoria and Stuart

We had a fantastic time covering the wedding videography of Victoria and Stuart’s wedding at Cringletie House, near Peebles in the Scottish Borders. Not only is Cringletie House a lovely wedding venue, but Victoria and Stuart had chosen it specifically for its green credentials: there was no need for any wedding cars, many of the guests were able to stay over at the Cringletie as the whole venue had been hired out, and as far as possible all fruit and vegetables were grown on site. Confetti, wedding favours, and much more were all environmentally friendly – I think this ticks the box for the greenest wedding we have had the pleasure to cover – you will be pleased to hear that our album printing company is also one of the greenest around!

Thank you so much for inviting us to be part of your special day. Have a peek at the short film below for a glimpse into the beauty of their day. You can also have a browse of some of their wedding photography too.

Wedding Videography Storyboards

At Lightmotif Films we believe it is so important to storyboard each video that we produce. Our storyboards are like a series of comic strips showing each of the individual stories that we want to capture on video throughout the wedding day or, in fact, any event. Storyboards are often only seen as being necessary for larger production movies, but we really believe they are just as essential for smaller individual events. There is so much fun and excitement at a wedding that some stories could easily be missed or forgotten. But before any wedding we ensure that we have put together a storyboard for the wedding preparations, the ceremony, the post-ceremony mingling, the bride and groom personal shoot, and the speeches and evening entertainment, ensuring that we do not forget those special moments and details and that they are captured in a beautiful, cinematic style that will seamlessly cut together in the final Feature Film.

I thought I’d add a small photo of one of our storyboards by way of illustration. This one is taken from the bridal preparations and includes the getting ready shots, some details, and the pre-ceremony excitement with the family and bridesmaids:

Braid Hills Wedding Video – Amanda and Mark

We had a fantastic time covering the wedding videography for Amanda and Mark’s day at the Braid Hills Hotel in Edinburgh. Despite the flurries of wind and rain, Amanda and Mark together with many friends and family made their wedding a truly memorable day. Thank you guys for allowing us to be a part of your special day, we look forward to seeing you soon! Play the wedding video trailer below for a glimpse into their day; we love to put these trailers together to show the cinematic style of videography that Lightmotif Films offer:

Engagement Video at Haylodge Park

We had a lovely evening for some photography and video for Amanda and Mark’s Engagement shoot at Haylodge park in Peebles. This was our first video coverage of an engagement shoot, and it shows how Adrian and I integrate so well for stills and video coverage in combination.

Barony Castle Wedding Video – Natalie and Kenny

What better trailer to start off our new wedding videography site than Natalie and Kenny’s wedding at Barony Castle, in Eddleston, Scottish Borders last month. We had a fantastic time covering the wedding videography for Natalie and Kenny’s beautiful day. We started with Kenny and the groomsmen at The Barony, went on to see Natalie and the girls at Cringletie House Hotel, and then headed of to the Leckie Parish Church in Peebles for a lovely ceremony. We all then filled up cars to head back to the Barony Castle in Eddleston for the wedding reception and evening entertainment. These wedding video trailers are just a wee teaser that we put together for all our wedding films, enjoy!
